Four restaurants, all diverse and delicious.
Scottsdale, Arizona is stocked with eateries, so where to dine if you're looking for something specific?
Here are four hot spots perfect for a girl's night out, double dating, intimate romancers, and fab Valley views.
For Girl’s Night Out
…because sometimes mama needs a night out.
The Bourbon & Bones Cocktail Lounge is great for a group of loud laughing, shot-taking, charcuterie eating mamas for a girl’s night out in Old Town Scottsdale. It’s a swanky spot for a fun-filled night of eating and drinking. Located next to the main Bourbon & Bones steakhouse, the lounge features a cool bar, plenty of seating space and yummy menu.
Casual and sophisticated, the patio and open-air bar are positioned on Scottsdale Road where you can sip on creative cocktails and an extensive list of bourbons, whiskey, and wine. There’s also a diverse menu for light bites or a full dinner- tons of seafood, sushi rolls, salads, shared plates, steaks and sides to choose from. As for drinks, my pick is the Purple Reign, a gin drink with hints of elderflower liquor, fever tree lime, grapefruit juice, pomegranate and more.
The Coolest Double Date Hot Spot
The hottest spot for double daters is Old Town’s STK Steakhouse. Why? Because it’s a VIBE. The restaurant has a lower and upper level both bringing a touch of Vegas to the heart of Scottsdale.
We sat in upstairs where there’s an open-aired seating area, bar, and dining room. Serenading your double date with partnered pals is an awesome DJ who spins the best ‘90s and ’00s hits (my faves, which admittedly dates me).
Our table for four indulged in a Chef’s tasting with salad, calamari, sliders, poke, steak, chicken, lobster mac, mashed potatoes, fries, and an array of delicious drinks. To top things off, there is quite a dessert presentation with sparklers galore (celebrating a birthday??) and the cheesecake is phenomenal.
For Intimate Romancers
Virtù Honest Craft will make you feel like you’re in Europe. Tucked away in a discrete Scottsdale location sits the stylish gathering spot inside Old Town’s charming Bespoke Inn Bed and Breakfast.
Chef Osso is a long-time Phoenix area favorite, having cooked in countless award-winning local kitchens before fulfilling his life-long dream of opening a restaurant of his own. The ever-changing menu features a modern, global approach to his Mediterranean family roots.
Ideal for a romantic dinner for two, the atmosphere is lovely, featuring white tablecloths and delightful décor. Dine on handmade pastas, premium seasonal produce, superb seafood, and a crafted cocktail program flaunting fresh-pressed juices and unique spirits.
Chef Osso often refers to the restaurant as a “beautifully composed symphony of sights, scents and tastes,” and I couldn’t agree more.
The Best Valley View
Just over ten years ago, the Talking Stick Resort opened its doors. At the time, my now husband and I were long-distance dating, and during one of my Arizona visits, he brought me to the brand-new Orange Sky restaurant. I was wowed by the resort’s elegant 15th-floor dining room showcasing 360-degree Valley views.
The following year, he proposed to me on the Orange Sky terrace, and now, over ten years later, I still believe it has the best views of any restaurant in the state of Arizona.
I highly recommend visiting the restaurant at sunset- there’s no better place to score an IG-worthy photo. Then, fine dine in one of Orange Sky’s unique booths- they’re extremely private flaunting a forward-facing window overlooking the Valley.
Orange Sky has a delicious menu of fresh seafood, aged steaks and just-harvested vegetables from local communities surrounding the Scottsdale and Phoenix areas. The versatile menu lets guests share an array of delectable plates, and along with your culinary adventure, delight your pallet with sommelier-suggested vino.
