In the crypto world, many say that 2022 will be the year of the metaverse and P2E games. Countless decentralized game projects have launched recently, are currently launching, or are preparing to launch in the near future. These projects could provide potential investors with golden 10x, 20x, even 100x opportunities.

It's important to note though that these kinds of investements are considered high risk since they are usually less established projects with smaller market caps. Everyone should do their own research (DYOR) and newcomers in crypto should refrain from making these kinds of investements until they develop a more sound experience of the market.

If you're interested in the world of decentralized gaming and think this type of investment is for you, here's a list of five projects that have high chances of exploding in the next year.

1. UFO Gaming (UFO)

Market cap: $401M

UFO Gaming is a dark inter-galactic metaverse where users can build and play games, buy and trade land, and own or trade characters and assets in the form of NFTs. What makes UFO Gaming special is that they are creating a multi-planetary metaverse where each planet will have its game, creating an ever-growing ecosystem of games for players to engage in.

UFO is an ERC20 token serving as a utility as well as a governance token that also leverages the scalability of the Polygon network. By staking UFO tokens, players can earn PLASMA, an internal token allowing users to mint UFOeps, unique characters used in gameplay.

At the time of writing, the price of UFO is approximately 0.000015 and is currently down 72% of its ATH. This might seem like a bad investment at first glance but the game is backed by a solid community and many experts believe the UFO token is one of the most undervalued metaverse tokens out there.

2. DeRace (DERC)

Market cap: $80M

DeRace is a P2E horse racing game where players can bet on winning horses, own, trade, and even breed horses, or build their own hippodrome in the form of NFTs. To bet on horses in a race, you'll need DERC tokens in your wallet. Once your wallet is connected and you enter a race, your contribution is added to the reward pool. Winning participants then earn a percentage of that reward pool.

DeRace is unique in the sense that it's straightforward, easy to understand, and bridges something well known in the real world into the metaverse. Because of that, some people believe DeRace has a huge potential for mass adoption, with people buying and breeding horses and making money through betting or owning winning horses.

DeRace definitely has many elements needed for this mass adoption to happen, with a great UX, cool graphics, and an easy-to-use interface.

3. Treasure (MAGIC)

Market cap: $85M

Treasure is a decentralized NFT ecosystem built specifically for the metaverse. The Treasure DAO is an Optimistic Rollup Layer 2 built on Arbitrum which allows for significantly lower transaction fees and a high level of security. MAGIC is the token that powers the Treasure metaverse and is used across all the different projects built in the ecosytem. "Treasures" are resources used in gameplay and traded in marketplaces in the form of NFTs.

The project launched in September 2021 and has been on a steady uptrend since then.

From their whitepaper:

Every project listed on Treasure’s marketplace utilizes MAGIC in their respective metaverses, with each community inventing its own lore and storytelling for this resource. [...] MAGIC acts as the reserve currency for the entire web of metaverses connected under the Treasure umbrella. Treasure projects are linked–narratively and economically–through MAGIC. The DAO uses MAGIC emissions to grow new projects and continue supporting more mature ones.

There is a scarce number of land available and each virtual land is represented in the form of an NFT. Their website states that "the game will enable community-created events where players will participate in activities and competitions."

The game is already receiving a lot of attention even though it hasn't been released yet. The release is planned for 2022 and at the time of writing, the ALICE token's price is around $11.10.
