The Interbay Tiny House Village has expanded to include 30 new units and a hygiene station at 1601 15th Ave W. The additional units brings the total number of tiny houses to 76 on the village property, with the new hygiene station capable of serving an additional 35 people.

The new food bank will open in mid-OctoberBallard Food Bank. The Ballard Food Bank has raised enough funds to finish building their new location at 1400 NW Leary Way. Construction started on the new food bank in September 2020, and the organizaiton has been fundraising ever since to help cover the costs for building their new home. With their lease expiring in their current location in October, they’ve been under pressure to raise enough money to finish construction and move in.

The Keep Moving Street on W Green Lake Way N will be reopening to traffic next month after being closed for over a year. The Seattle Department of Transportation will be making some changes along the roadway to maintain it as a pedestrian- and bike-friendly street. As soon as next week, SDOT will be starting construction to create a two-way walking and biking path on W Green Lake Way N. The plan is to complete the installation in early October, with a target reopening date of October 1.

He’s now the latest artist to join the FLOW art project, a joint collaboration between Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) and the Office of Arts & Culture to beautify the Ship Canal Water Quality project construction sites.

The Ballard Playfield is about to get some lighting upgrades. Seattle Parks and Recreation has awarded a construction contract to a local electrical company to replace the lighting at the Ballard Playfield, adjacent to the Ballard Community Center at 2644 NW 60th St. The work to replace the lights started this week and will be completed in early 2022, and the playfield will remain closed during construction.

The Whitter Elementary traffic cameras have been installed on NW 80th St between 12th Ave NW and 14th Ave NW in Crown Hill. The school zone safety cameras only operate when students are arriving and departing school grounds; the cameras near Whittier will be on from 7:15 a.m. to 8:05 a.m. and again in the afternoon from 2:15 p.m. to 2:55 p.m.
