It's time to stop the Asian hate.
For that, Restaurants in Nashville are coming together to support the #doughsomething campaign to raise awareness and essential funds for the Asian Americans Advancing Justice national affiliation during Asian American History Month!
Recently many have endured countless attacks in the past year, including the recent shootings in Georgia where 8 people, including 6 Asian women, lost their lives.
#Doughsomething is a great way to bring awareness and stop the hate. Food brings people together; food is a way of sharing the culture and flavors. Many restaurants have already joined via donating $$$ when you order some special dish from them. ( About the menu and restaurants, read it below)
Local restaurants in Nashville will participate in this fundraiser the entire month of May.
May is also Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This month is to bring us closer to understand that we have more similarities than differences. We all are part of the community.
Unfortunately, a covid-19 crisis has brought up more hate and intolerance towards Asian and immigrant communities. In the United States, we have many Asians who are working in the hospitality and restaurant industry. This past year hasn't been easy for their community. Many restaurant workers have lost their jobs or facing economic hardships. The best way to overcome the crises is to stick together and support each other in every possible way we can.
Hate and discrimination are not solutions.
Even from recent history, we can see that lots of innocent people had suffered because of hate and discrimination. Today, it is in our hands to change the future and not to repeat the history. Sharing more awareness and information helps all of us to live in peace and harmony.
Starting from Asian cuisine to one of the most brilliant scientists in this world. This is why it is important to keep in mind that we are helping and protecting each other regardless of race, culture, or history. We can make this world a better place.
Hate and Violence are not the answers.
For this action_for_hospitality coalition, members are teaming up with restaurants across the country throughout the month of May on the #doughsomething fundraising campaign to support Asian Americans Advancing Justice,
an affiliation of leading organizations that advocate for the civil and human rights of Asian Americans and other underserved communities to promote a fair and equitable society for all.
