Valentino Rossi and the wealthy empire he has built during his 26 year career

Motorcycle Sports

Valentino Rossi has conquered during his career many successes, awards and achievements within the reach of (very) few, both in sport and in the financial field.
In all, the Italian completed a total of 26 seasons on the world circuit and during that time won nine champion titles in the different categories (125cc, 250cc, 500cc and MotoGP), and managed to build a very wealthy empire off-track.

With this in mind Corsedimoto was looking for the answer to the following question: how much Valentino Rossi earned in his entire motorcycling career? In addition to the contracts with the different manufacturers, Rossi also worked with different sponsorships that may have paid equal or higher value compared to what the #46 earned as a salary as a motorcycle rider.

Analyzing several specialized financial reports, the italian website indicated that Rossi earned around 10 to 30 million euros a year. Even so, the website argues that the astronomical sums of money came, in large part, from Rossi’s relationship with his sponsorships. All in all, Corsedimoto have concluded that Valentino Rossi has earned at least 250 millions euros in his entire career.

Over the years, Rossi has tried to be as little dependent on his salary as a rider as possible. He created the riders academy, the VR46 brand – one of whose responsibilities is managing athlete careers—and he still sells #46-related merchandising like other academy riders. In addition to all this, Rossi has remained connected to different sponsorships that are a considerable part of his entire revenue stream.

Remember that today it was reported that currently Marc Márquez is the highest paid rider in MotoGP, as far as his salary is concerned, with Rossi coming in second.
