Hervé Poncharal has no doubts in putting Fabio Quartararo at the top of MotoGP and even admits that in the next few years it will be possible to see an intense rivalry with Marc Márquez, but he went further and even considered the frenchman in the new Messias.
‘Last year we thought Fabio could do it, but he had some small mistakes. Maybe lack of maturity, but this year he was incredibly smart, did some introspection work over the winter. We saw him arrive in 2021 with an incredible maturity compared to 2020’, Tech3 boss began to saying quoted by Nantes Maville.
Then Poncharal talked about his start in Qatar for #20: ‘He started the championship with a hat on his wheels and has since been the most consistent by far. He won at circuits where Yamaha are supposedly at a disadvantage. He performed well, especially at Le Mans in the rain, where Yamaha isn’t a priori the best machine’.
And he again underlined the growth of Quartararo and how it is currently the new number one:
– When you look at everything that has happened since this sunday, Fabio is the boss. He took Marc Márquez’s place. He is ‘there’ every weekend, rain or shine, whether the circuits are long or short. Nobody has his regularity. He has a racing intelligence, a serenity that he didn’t have before, and that allows him to be a complete rider. He kept the humility that is his. Fabio is the new Messiah now.
