Iker Lecuona was one of the standout drivers of this GP in Aragon. The spaniard started this sunday’s race in 13th place on the grid and came to occupy seventh position before a mistake made at a time when he was fighting for sixth place.

The spaniard claimed that he had made some mistakes and that at turn eight he had almost lost control of his RC16. Despite having finished the race in 11th, the #27 is pleased with the performance shown on track.

‘I had a good start, I overcame Fabio [Quartararo], Brad [Binder] and some guys, it was good to make up the difference to [Jorge] Martín. I made a mistake at turn eight when I was with Martín, the rear was moving a lot, I almost had a highside. After this situation I had problems with my shoulder, it hurt a little. It took four laps to recover and fight [Takaaki] Nakagami again. It was a good race, I could have finished sixth, but in the end I made some mistakes on my part. I’m happy, I received many messages from many people, my family, my manager’, he declared.

Lecuona also guaranteed that he has the necessary level to remain in MotoGP. However, rumors point to the young athlete’s going to the Superbike World Championship with Honda:

– I’m improving my level. In the last three or four races I’ve taken a big step. This weekend the sensations were good, I improved in qualifying. I have the level to be on the podium and in MotoGP, but now that’s what it is. I want to enjoy, improve and I am very happy.
