A Sayreville, NJ Councilwoman was shot dead Wednesday night in her car outside her home on Samuel Circle. Police and prosecutors are still searching for suspects and a motive.

BREAKING NEWS OUT OF SAYREVILLE, NEW JERSEY, AS COUNCILWOMAN SHOT DEAD OUTSIDE HOME.

Eunice Dwumfour, a 30-year-old member of the Sayreville borough council in New Jersey was shot and killed outside her home last night, Wednesday, February 1.

Police received a 911 call just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night for shots fired on Samuel circle in Sayreville. Officers responded and found a woman in her car outside an apartment complex with multiple gunshot wounds; she was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police and prosecutors are still searching for suspects and a motive. At first, law enforcement would not confirm the identity of the victim, however, multiple political sources confirmed it was Eunice Dwumfour, a member of the borough’s council. Sayreville Mayor Victoria Kilpatrick later confirmed the news.

Dwumfour was a Republican and IT professional, who also served as director of churches for an international ministry, Champions Royal Assembly. She was described as a woman of deep faith who integrated her Christian beliefs into her daily life as a person and community leader.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening and the police received a 911 call for shots fired at Samuel Circle in Sayreville.

Sayreville is about 35 miles southwest of New York City and about 65 miles northeast of Philadelphia.
