On Saturday, May 8, 2021, Paws in the Park will return to Lake Eola for another year of pets, fundraising, and fun. This event is hosted and in support of Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. Paws in the Park is a major fundraising event for this organization and helps to support the pets under their care. The event will run from 10 am to 4 pm for a single day and pets are (of course) welcome to attend. There is a full schedule of events to enjoy throughout the day from costume contests to talks on pet care. According to their website, the fundraising goal for this year ($80,000) has already been surpassed.

What to Do

The event will have stations and activities set up around the event grounds. Get a glimpse at what you can participate in on Saturday:

  • Visit the photo station for a doggy kissing booth and photo wall
  • Enjoy the Beer Garden at Persimmon Hollow Brewery
  • Shop the vendor marketplace
  • Taste what the food trucks have to offer

Activities For Your Pup

Did you think an event all about pets was really going to leave out the dogs? Attending doggos will have plenty of opportunities to engage in fun activities. These include lure courses, a fun zone, and dog-friendly games. There will also be a water stop to keep your pup hydrated and a photo op where you can capture a quick pic for Instagram.

Day-Of Events to Plan For

There will be a number of events held throughout the day. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • 10 am - Welcome and Awards
  • 10:30 am - Costume Contest (Superheroes, Favorite Food, Bing-able TV, and Wildcard)
  • 11:45 am - Talk on “Bringing a New Pet Home Vet Consult”
  • 2 pm - Talk on “Pet Care Tips”

Stop by tomorrow on May 8 to show your support for the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. Entrance is free and no registration is required to attend. The proceeds from this event help to provide shelter and care for over 5,200 dogs and cats in this year alone.
