3 Food Halls in the Tampa Area

Food halls bring together a bunch of good (local) businesses into one central location. This means more convenience for you, the customer, and more visibility for the shop owners. I call that a win-win. The Tampa area has a few food hall-style locations you’ll definitely want to check out. Heights Public Market, The Joinery, and Sparkman Wharf provide a pleasant cast of local eateries and cute shops to browse. Plus, many of these food halls also hold events and workshops. Plan a visit to one (or all!) of these locations.

Heights Public Market

Armature Works’ Heights Public Market is a 22,000 square foot marketplace featuring a collection of generous selection of eateries. Originally, Armature Works was used to store the TECO streetcars. From there it became a phosphate machinery manufacturing plant. Today this modern industrial hangout is a trendy spot near Tampa’s waterfront community.

Another fun thing to keep an eye out for is their ‘Show + Tell’ workshops. These are workshops hosted at the market in a designated space. Some of the Show + Tell workshops they host include entertainment workshops, cooking classes, and demonstrations.

Here’s what you can expect to find at Heights Public Market:

  • Buddy Brew Coffee
  • Graze 1910
  • BnB
  • A.W.Mercantile
  • Bar Aw

The Joinery

If you want a quiet getaway from the Tampa area, take a drive out to downtown Lakeland and visit The Joinery. The Joinery is a food hall and craft brewery situated on Lake Mirror with shops, beverage stops, and a variety of eateries. Visit this food hall for Bingo, yoga, plant workshops, and other events held at this trendy location. The Joinery certainly isn’t the largest food hall near Tampa but it does have a nice selection of options from pizza to sushi burritos and tacos to ramen.

Here’s what you can expect to find inside:

  • Ava
  • Gallito Taqueria
  • Mayday Ice Cream
  • Plenty
  • Bloom Shakalaka

  • The Bar
  • Sābu Ramen

Sparkman Wharf

Sparkman Wharf is a lively collection of shops, restaurants, and events. Located on Tampa’s waterfront, this destination is a dynamic location for enjoying shops, entertainment, and drinks on evenings and weekends. Beyond the dining, retails, and entertainment spaces, Sparkman Wharf is also home to 180,000 square feet of office space. Some of the events you can expect to see pop up at Sparkman Wharf include live music, car shows, trivia nights, and wellness events.
