MAGNOLIA, TX – The Houston-Galveston Area Council is hosting a virtual meeting on April 22nd regarding a mobility study for Precinct 2 in Montgomery County; and they want your input.
The Precinct 2 Mobility Study, which starting in September, 2020; is set to look at and address current and projected future traffic and transportation issues in Precinct 2. The upcoming public meeting will be the first to allow residents of Precinct 2 to see and talk to members of the H-GAC, as well as give their input regarding what traffic issues they know about in the area.
Since last September, H-GAC has been in the “Data Collection and Analysis” phase of the mobility study. In this phase, data regarding traffic counts, crash frequencies and locations, and related information is gathered and analyzed for patterns. A very early draft map is created and presented to the public for review.
At this public meeting, residents of Precinct 2 will get their first look at this map, and have the opportunity to present their ideas and input regarding possible changes. Since this meeting will be virtual, participants are asked to sign up through their webinar registration portal here, where you will need to input your name and email address.
Once the first public hearing is complete, the H-GAC will return to the drawing board with the revisions suggested and create another draft of a mobility plan. The new draft plan will be presented at the second public hearing, which is scheduled for September, 2021. This meeting is planned to be in-person according to H-GAC, and residents of Precinct 2 will be able to add any final input to the project. The entire mobility study is expected to be complete by Spring, 2022.
Prior to the virtual meeting, you can fill out a survey from the H-GAC regarding mobility issues in Precinct 2. You will have to register for an account on the site, but registration is minimal, and only takes a minute to complete.
