This morning I woke up to a message from my wedding photographer saying "hope you are enjoying married bliss" -- wow! I could not have worded it better myself. Waking up after your wedding is bittersweet. I did a lot of the wedding myself with help from amazing family and friends. So it took a lot out of me, not to mention a few sour grapes I had to deal with after the fact. I just can't get over how incredibly at peace I am with life.
The wedding was absolutely perfect - of course their was hiccups but I just remained present in each moment to fully enjoy the day. Walking down the aisle (it was long) I felt so many feelings, excitement, sickness, anxiety, happiness. I felt these things not about who I was marrying but about declaring that love in front of ppl. If you know my husband and I you know we aren't the couple making out on the dance floor or the one cuddled in the corner of the restaurant. We save all those special moments for when it's just us. So this was a huge deal for us! When I got to the end of the aisle and saw him it was such a relief, I have the insane feeling of just being home when I see him, like nothing else matters except for him, Pearce and I. I am so incredibly happy to have found him. The ceremony was beautiful and small -- everything we wanted.
The reception was so much fun, 120 close friends and family, a excellent party. During which we shared many amazing moments. I am so blessed to have had the perfect day, and couldn't have done it without amazing family friends -- my family is so blessed to have a large village behind us.
My mother was literally my second eyes on my vision, everything I wanted the day to be she helped create -- and it was beautiful. My father lives in kamloops now with his wife but they helped from afar bringing food and providing us with the venue. Chris's dad helped bring the party together, Chris's mom bought me beautiful flowers which Emily arranged in a beautiful arrangement. I also got to wear Chris's family pearls. Chrystal did so much leading up to the day everything a maid of honor does. And gave me my something borrowed and something blue! Renee was my ear through the whole stressful process. My sister gave us an amazing gift of bar tending for us - we have rowdy friends! Many family members came from near and far friends from Australia, family from Ontario, Florida, Portland, Victoria, kamloops. My beautiful sister in law surprised us with a beautiful cake made of bacon for top layer, white chocolate for middle and lemon blueberry for the bottom. My long time friend Natasha did such a amazing job at MCing, and it was hilarious. Many good friends and family members gave speeches, and best wishes. I cannot put into words how much I love each person who came to our special day. You have all been there for some part of our roller coaster to this point.
It is now 6 days after our wedding and I sit down drinking my coffee, and enjoy the calm while the baby sleeps. I feel so at peace and so happy to be married to my husband and to have all the crazy over! Wedding planning is no easy task, and we pulled it off in 4 months! I wish to all brides to be that you to feel this bliss and enjoy each moment of your wedding day, may you cry happy tears, and share in laughter. Here's to the rest of my life with a man who loves me - good and bad and whom I love just the way he is.
Oh no the wedding is over... and now we can just be married.. <3
