Many local families struggle during the holiday season. Hectic work schedules, medical conditions, and budget constraints are just a few of the factors that can make Thanksgiving prep difficult.

Brass Rail Steakhouse knows life can get rough and believes that every family deserves a Thanksgiving feast. That's why the restaurant gives away thousands of free meals, which include turkey, sides, and dessert, every year.

In 2020, more than 7,000 people received complimentary Thanksgiving dinners from Brass Rail. The restaurant set a goal to feed 10,000 families in 2021, though it's unclear whether this goal was hit.

However, it appears the annual Thanksgiving event was a success. On November 25, 2021, Brass Rail's owner shared a post declaring his love for the community. He says that on Thanksgiving Day, volunteers delivered 2,700 meals across St. Charles County in less than 2 hours. There were so many volunteers that traffic was temporarily halted on Hwy K near Starbucks.

Here's the Facebook post from Brass Rail:

More than 600 people reacted to Brass Rail's post about meal delivery, but it wasn't as popular as another recent post from the restaurant. On November 9, 2021, Brass Rail announced that they would no longer remain open on Sundays or Mondays. "It's vitally important for us to allow our team to have family time, rest and relaxation time, and an opportunity to recharge " explained the owner via Facebook.

Brass Rail's announcement was met with praise from members of the community. In fact, multiple St. Charles County residents said they're more likely to eat at Brass Rail now that this new schedule has been implemented.

Brass Rail is located at 4601 Highway K, O'Fallon, MO, 63368. The restaurant sits on the south side of O'Fallon, just before the Hwy 40 exit. You can contact Brass Rail via phone (636) 329-1349, fax at (636) 329-1348, or email at info@brassrail1.com.

The official Facebook page for Brass Rail says, "It looks like a little bar from the outside, but this is NOT bar food." Popular menu items include steak, smoked wings, fresh seafood, and filet mignon. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available. You can eat at the restaurant or order a meal for pickup. Several delicious catering options are also available, including a New England clam bake as well as a traditional crawfish boil.

Have you visited Brass Rail lately? If not, what's your favorite restaurant in St. Charles County?
