North Carolina as a state, and mentioned by The News & Observer news website on Newsbreak, is now introducing dozens of new laws, many of which are going to be going into effect on December 1st. Many citizens of North Carolina probably do not know much about these new laws and how these particular pieces of legislation are going to affect their lives. That is where we at Mint Message are going to come in: to give you the rundown on some of these particular new laws and what they could mean as they are introduced for this month & continue to be in effect for the near future!
One of those laws is House Bill 40. This particular law is known as the "Prevent Rioting and Civil Disorder". This law was introduced and it increases penalties for rioting or inciting any for of rioting that lead to some form of serious injury and property damage if it is more than two thousand five hundred United States Dollars. All of this means there will be some greater punishments in the state of North Carolina if someone causes a riot and it leads to death or serious injury of innocent people nearby.
Part of the law is modified in Senate Bill 626, a law that is also known as the "Modify Human Trafficking and Rioting Laws" Bill if you want to go with the long name. This law now also adds more of a extended definition for what is considered to be human trafficking in the state of North Carolina.
