A man from the state of Florida was found trespassing at the Dolley Maidson Preschool on Tuesday. Authorities in Virginia identified this man as thirty-two-year-old Eric Sandow who told witnesses that he was going to the CIA.
"What happened yesterday is a man, Eric Sandow, 32 years old from Gainesville, Florida, not really known to law enforcement locally, or in Florida, showed up, parked his car at a nearby school, walked to the front gates of the CIA and started rambling about having firearms in his car," said Fairfax Police Chief Davis, "So we're talking 200 rounds of ammunition. And just think if he would have taken those rounds of ammunition out of his trunk as he walked by a school on the way to the CIA. It could have been much, much worse."
According to Fairfax County Police, Sandow never took the weapon out of his car during the incident and they do not think he actually had any intention to harm anyone at the preschool or the CIA. With all of that said, the man was charged with felony possession of a firearm on school property.
As noted in the Fairfax County Police Department’s statement this morning, a man was arrested yesterday after trespassing on Immanuel Presbyterian Church and Dolley Madison Preschool grounds. He requested access to the building facilities to use the restroom, which was denied by school staff. At no point did he gain physical entrance to the school building. Fairfax County Police were called and arrested the individual. His car was parked in the main parking lot and was searched and seized. We are grateful for the swift response of the Fairfax County Police Department. - abc7 news for local news in Fairfax, Virginia
