Disney World Closing Star Wars Hotel in September

Walt Disney World had a hotel called the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser as one of its new attractions. The hotel was a Star Wars-themed experience that opened to much fanfare in spring 2022. However, there is terrible news for this particular hotel, it is shutting down. Disney has released a statement stating that this particular attraction will be closed in September.

Here is an official statement from the Disney Corporation: "Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment. This premium, boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its final voyage, we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans."

There are a bunch of reasons that this endeavor is closing down, but one might be that it could not be profitable due to the asking price. Guests to Disney World who wanted to be a guest at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and wished to stay for a whole two days would have to pay between four thousand eight hundred dollars and six thousand dollars per cabin. According to SFGate, some people ended up paying about five thousand dollars in order to stay there.

The other reason was how the cabins looks. Some people compared how the cabins looked to a “windowless bunker”, which is not a good description when it comes to a hotel room.
