Governor Ron DeSantis' hopes of boosting his 2024 presidential candidacy have been dashed as America has made up its mind about him.

His lackluster performance in the second Republican Party presidential debate and his inability to make a compelling case for his candidacy have led to a decline in his poll numbers and general reviews as a national candidate.

DeSantis Falls to the Periphery:

Despite having the center spot on the debate stage, DeSantis was overshadowed by other candidates who offered more compelling critiques of Donald Trump's refusal to participate in the debate.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's forceful condemnation of Trump reduced DeSantis to offering weak responses.

Additionally, former Vice President Mike Pence made a persuasive case for his readiness to lead from Day One, exposing DeSantis' inability to do the same.

Lack of Passion and Genuine Energy:

DeSantis failed to deliver any memorable moments of articulate passion and genuine energy, which were instead provided by candidates Nikki Haley and Tim Scott. Their heated exchange during the debate captured the audience's attention, leaving DeSantis in the background.

Incoherent Response to Healthcare:

DeSantis struggled to explain why Florida's percentage of residents without healthcare remains above the national average. His response, blaming it on Florida's population boom and lack of welfare benefits, was confusing and did not provide a satisfactory answer.

Refusal to Answer a Question:

DeSantis's best moment in the debate was when he refused to answer a question. The moderators asked the candidates to write down the name of the fellow candidate they would most like to eliminate from the race, and DeSantis declined to participate. This refusal spoke volumes about his campaign.

It is clear that DeSantis' presidential campaign is faltering. His overpromising and underdelivering have led to a decline in his poll numbers and overall perception as a national candidate.

America has made up its mind about DeSantis 2024, and it is time for him to accept that. Instead of chasing more donors' checks, he needs a reality check about the state of his campaign. It is time for him to step off the campaign trail and return to Florida.
