(BROOKLYN, N.Y.) Citi Bike dropped a batch of their new eBikes Thursday at various locations across New York City, including a docking station at Eastern Parkway and Grand Army Plaza.
The new eBikes, equipped with stronger battery-powered motors to assist with pedaling over long distances, hold 60 miles on a single charge and offers more night visibility with reflective paint.
In the next few months, the company plans to roll out thousands more of the new eBikes, which now offer a wider range of seat height options, auto-shifting and easier locking/unlocking.
The eBikes are exclusively for Citi Bike and Lyft Pink members starting Thursday, but anyone can sign up for a free trial to get early access.
The rollout is part of an ongoing initiative to expand Citi Bike's network deeper into Brooklyn and Queens.
