(BROOKLYN, N.Y.) Dumbo Moving & Storage is working with the Fairfield Police Department in Connecticut by transporting body armor and helmets to the Ukrainian American House in Manhattan, where it is then shipped overseas to help Ukrainian soldiers.
"Dumbo Moving's office is filled with people originally from Ukraine, Russia, and the Slavic countries," a rep from Dumbo Moving said via email. "We wanted to help out, in a way we know we can do better than anyone else. Dumbo always values antiwar and anti-racism. We are honored to help with the effort."
The police department collected more than 200 previously used ballistic vests and helmets from several Fairfield County Police Departments to donate to Ukrainian soldiers, according to a department press release.
