(BROOKLYN, N.Y.) For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Brooklyn Museum is bringing back its long tradition of First Saturday, a free evening at the museum celebrating culture and community on the first Saturday of the month.
This month's theme focuses on honoring the continued fight for Black liberation in Brooklyn and beyond. The spirited lineup includes pop-up poetry, talks, hands-on art, signature cocktails and various musical performances throughout the evening.
The event is from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on April 2, and advance registration is required.
Throughout the pandemic, the museum hosted virtual First Saturdays and First Saturday Lite, a free outdoor gathering with music, pop-up markets and art-making.
