  • About Julien Baker

Julien Baker's third album, 'Little Oblivions,' is the follow-up to 2017's 'Turn Out The Lights,' both released on Matador Records. Baker's work has resonated with an international audience, according to the New York Times, particularly on the rare second album that, despite new self-consciousness, stretches beyond an unspoiled debut to reach for even bigger things while maintaining all of its passion.

The Sunday Times reviewed that the combination of detached vocals, lush arrangements, and frank examinations of love, loss, dysfunction, and acceptance is devastating.

With Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, Baker formed boygenius in 2018. Baker was at the forefront of a burgeoning generation of era-defining artists, and the resulting eponymous EP and joint North American tour became one of the most celebrated and talked about musical collaborations of that year.

Baker's show-stopping debut, Sprained Ankle, catapulted her to international fame in 2015. In just a few days, she recorded a bleak yet hopeful meditation on identity, addiction, faith, resilience, and redemption. According to the New York Times, she is an intense and immersive performer whose live shows have been described as hushed and reverent.

Baker has worked on recordings with Frightened Rabbit, Matt Berninger, Hayley Williams, Becca Mancari, Mary Lambert, and Justin Vernon, The National, Sharon Van Etten, Ben Gibbard, and others. Justin Vernon, Sharon Van Etten, Ben Gibbard, The National, and others are the names whom she ever got on stage together.
