DETROIT, MI - George's Livonia Gardens invites everyone who wishes to see, hand feed, and release butterflies on their own to join in this special fun and educational event called Monarch Butterfly Tag and Release. The event will take place on September 18 and September 19.
You can purchase the ticket for $15. By joining this event, you will get to feed the butterflies, helping them to prepare for their long journey to the overwintering sites in Mexico, and also learn about their migration route, overwintering behavior, and return. You'll receive your own Monarch butterfly to be released in a personalized keepsake envelope with the tag number along with a website that leads you to information about their incredible journey. They won't leave you in hunger and boredom because they will also prepare some donuts and cider just in case. Complimentary seed ball activity will also be provided for children 13 and under.
