Cranbrook Art Museum is hiring part-time Visitor Services Representatives

DETROIT, MI – Cranbrook Art Museum, part of Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, is currently hiring multiple Visitor Services positions.

The part-time position will require the employee to work less than 20 hours per week. Job description includes welcoming and engaging Museum visitors and constituents, as well as to campus, public programs, and private groups.

All Visitor Services Representatives are required to have the ability to orientate and educate visitors about the Museum facility and current exhibitions and programs, whilst expanding the opportunities for further engagement.

To do this, one must also stay current with the gallery and exhibition information, including featured artworks and artists. Knowing these will also make the responsibility to sell museum memberships and process the Art Museum membership applications easier.

Each employee is also responsible to monitor potential security issues pertaining to the artwork and visitor surroundings. Communicate with CEC Security whenever necessary.

Keeping the Museum lobby, reception desk, storage areas, and galleries clean and orderly is also part of the job. Visitor Services Representatives should also show a high level of discipline in terms of punctuality and performance standards.

To apply for this position, High School Diploma is required and BFA or MFA is strongly preferred. You are also required to have customer service experience and the ability to work with the public, school personnel, students, and volunteers.

Applicants should be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and manage several projects simultaneously. You will be provided additional training on specialized software, but basic computer experience is required.
