DETROIT, MI - "What's So Funny About Detroit?" is coming back to bring more laughter on August 26, 2021, starting from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. The event will be held in the backyard of Old Miami, so make sure to dress appropriately for the weather for your convenience.

Ryan Patrick Hooper, the award-winning host and producer of CultureShift on 101.9 WDET-FM will serve as the host. He will introduce you to Detroit's six stand-up comedians. Let's get to know them better!

1. Sam Rager

A rising star in Detroit's comedy scene. Her debut stand-up comedy album called "Trigger Warning" received a good impression along with huge laughs.

2. Bill Bushart

A performer at comedy clubs throughout the Midwest. Bill was listed in the Funniest Comic in Detroit by the readers of the Metro Times in 2010.

3. Tam White

A stand-up and improv actor who is a cast member at the Go Comedy Improv Theatre. Appeared in Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle, One Night Stan's Comedy Club, and many more.

4. Wes Ward

His debut album, "White Forest Whitaker" gained over 100,000 streams on various platforms like iTunes, Spotify, and Pandora.

5. Melanie Hearn

A fast-rising talent in the Metro Detroit comedy scene after her performance at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle. Delivers a fun show that gets the crowd involved in her act.

6. Camila Ballario

An Argentine-born American singer who entertained crowds with her soulful voice. A fresh brand of the stand-up comedy scene.

This event is for 21 and up. The ticket sales will be used to support WDET and to compensate the comedians. Food and drinks will be available to purchase as The House of BBQ food truck will be there with vegetarian and meat options. Read more about the details here.
