(Forsyth County, GA) Forsyth County residents will have a chance to learn how they can give back to the community either through volunteering or working to help others in need. Forsyth County Community Connect is holding its first Volunteer & Job Fair this Saturday, March 26, 2022.

The first of its kind event has been in the making for five years. The goal, according to Sarah Pedarre’, Executive Director of FCCC, is to get as many non-profit agencies as possible together in one room so everyone attending can learn about the organizations and decide where they would like to help. Also, since there are so many vacancies at many of these agencies, they decided to combine it with a job fair.

“We hope the community will come and recognize some of the organizations and maybe learn a little more, but really, we hope they will find an organization that maybe they didn't know about or that truly speaks to their passions,” Pedarre’ said. “It is going to serve as kind of a one stop shop of the many amazing organizations we have in our community.”

The various agencies that will be represented share a common goal – to protect children in their homes and ensure they are ready to succeed in school, as well as provide families with the resources they need to live healthy and productive lives. According to Pedarre’, that kind of help is needed more than one might realize.

“There is a large part of the population that really thinks that living in Forsyth County as one of the most affluent counties means we don't have any of those problems,” Pedarre’ stated. “I want to help bring issues to light, but more importantly show how we are already facing them and how anyone in the community can get involved and make a difference.”
