Bad news for those of you who have been waiting for some new content to land in eFootball 2022: its version v1.0 update has been postponed until spring 2022.
Version 1.0 was supposed to land in eFootball 2022 next week on 11th November. However, Konami has today put out a statement delaying the update into next Spring – making it so players will have to wait until at least March to enjoy some new content in the game.
Due to the delay, Konami has also canceled the eFootball 2022 Premium Player Pack, which was to include items that could be used within the v.1.0 update. Anybody who has already pre-ordered the Premium Player Pack will be automatically refunded.
If you load up eFootball 2022 today, however, you’ll notice an update has landed for the game. Update v0.9.1, which was delayed from November, is available from today. However, this only addresses numerous bug fixes in the game and doesn’t add any new content.
Alongside the delay of the v1.0 content update, Konami has also announced that the mobile release of eFootball 2022 has been delayed into spring 2022, too. It was originally supposed to be released this autumn. Fans who were looking forward to playing the football game on their phone will have to wait a little longer.
eFootball 2022's release continues to be a shambles – but at least the game as it stands now is free-to-play. And with refunds going out for the Premium Player Pack, no players have lost any money as they wait for new content to drop. It’s a shame because Konami’s vision for eFootball 2022 does show promise. But we’ll have to wait even longer to see if that full vision will ever be realized.
