Few things beat fresh Lancaster County produce. Fresh summer corn, peaches, radishes, peas, strawberries, you name it. If there's anything better, it must be the Pennsylvania Dutch baked goods you find get at some of these local spots.

Here are 4 farmers markets in the area, offering both healthy produce and not-so-healthy treats.

Harvest Lane Farm

Harvest Lane Farm is a fourth generation family farm in Lancaster County, farming prime agricultural soils that have produced abundantly for many years. They offer a large variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy items, meats and cheeses.

In addition, and this is a big plus, they have fresh-made baked goods, peanut butter cookies, whoopie pies, ice cream during the summers, and so much more.

The market has been running since 1995, and is a popular spot among locals.

Lititz Farmers Market

Lititz Farmers Market is a seasonal outdoor market in Lititz Springs Park which also has turned into a community gathering spot where friends and families meet up to eat their dinners from the park vendors outdoors. There's often live music as well. And whoopie pies.

The farmers Market is a program of  Venture Lititz Inc., a nonprofit created to support the continued success of businesses in downtown Lititz and throughout the community.

Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market

Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market is a family-owned market that has been around for over three decades. Located in one of the more popular areas for tourists, there's plenty of Pennsylvania Dutch Foods as well as souvenirs to be found here.

In addition to fresh produce, meats and cheeses, there's a large variety of baked goods, canned goods and homemade chocolates and candies.

Also a local staple: hand-rolled soft pretzels. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out.

Lancaster Central Market

Last but not least, a must-explore place that breathes Pennsylvania Dutch Country: Lancaster Central Market, the oldest, continuously running public farmers market in the United States.

More than 60 local vendors call this gorgeous, well-kept market house home three days every single week. You will find an abundance of produce from the nutrient-rich soils native to the local landscape, an array of prepared foods representing the proud cultural diversity of the county, locally sourced meat, poultry, cheeses, and much more.
