Aside from the majestic Susquehanna River, there are several ponds and small lakes located in and around Lancaster, PA where you can pack up a good lunch, bring your fishing rod, and enjoy the scenery while trying to catch a trout or two.

Speedwell Forge Lake
Speedwell Forge Lake is a 106-acre impoundment owned by the state and managed by the Fish and Boat Commission for public fishing and boating.
The lake is a popular, local spot for fishing and for kayaking. Right by the area, there's also a pavilion with picnic tables available for use, and seasonally you'll find portable restrooms on-site.

Pinchot Lake
Pinchot Lake in York County is a 340-acre warmwater fishery, designated as a Big Bass Lake located in Gifford Pinchot State Park.
Special regulations cover the minimum size and creel limits for all types of bass. Some of the common species you may end up catching here are largemouth bass, hybrid striped bass, and muskellunge.
If you're bringing kids, there's also a playground close by.

Bainbridge (Susquehanna River)
Fishing at Bainbridge is a local favorite spot for walleye and smallmouth bass.
This part of the Susquehanna River is also known for its White Cliffs of Conoy, a tourist destination with panoramic views of the river. It's definitely worth checking out if you decide to go fishing in the area.

There are laws and regulations when it comes to fishing in Pennsylvania. In general, everyone who is age 16 and older should have a valid fishing license, which can be purchased online or in a tackle shop. Keep your license visibly displayed while fishing.
