If there is any time to visit Lancaster, PA, it's this upcoming weekend.
The 2022 Lancaster Hot Air Balloon Festival & Country Fair is set to kick off in Bird-in-Hand Friday, Sept. 16 and will run through Sunday. This event is hosted in the village of Bird-in-Hand, PA - featuring the mass launch of dozens of big, beautiful balloons, family entertainment, fireworks, lots of food, including local, Amish goods.
This festival is simply going to be breathtaking from all angles.
There are two ways to experience the festival - on the ground or in the air.
For the latter, tickets have to be pre-purchased, morning and evening flights are available Friday through Sunday. Tickets are $400. They are some early-bird options for a limited time, offering $50 off.

If you prefer to watch the sky turn into a colorful scene from below, there is plenty of family-friendly and fun activities on the ground. Included in general admission tickets, priced from $15 to $30 depending on age, are bounce houses, corn maze, tractor hayride, balloon walkthrough, and much more.
As for food, come hungry - options are many at this festival. Sweet or savory, vegetarian or meat-lover, there is something for everyone.
Local vendors include, but are not limited to, Immergut Hand-Rolled Soft Pretzels (yum!), Dough Heads Waffles, Sara-Faye's Hand Rolled Soft Pretzels, Tri-County BBQ - because we all know no festival is complete without BBQ, right?
