National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes relationships within neighborhoods, residents, and local police departments. People all over the country take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities on the first Tuesday in August.
Many neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and more.
Axe throwing and face painting
The Shops at Rockvale are going all out this Tuesday.
Featured activities include face painting for kids and a balloon artist on-site. For the adventurous ones, try out axe throwing at Hatchet & Axe Co. mobile throwing unit.
Community events are not complete without music and food. For the Annual Night Out at Rockvale, there will be live music and several food trucks on-site. If you're a sweet tooth, you'll be happy to hear Premium Shaved Ice & Skyline Cotton Candy is going to be at the event. Come hungry!
Meet & Greet
Local First Responders, including Lancaster EMS, East Lampeter Township Police Department, East Lampeter Police Department Works, Ronks Fire Company, Lafayette Fire Company, Hand-in-Hand Fire Company, Witmer Fire Protective Association – and more, will host several family-friendly games and activities throughout the night.
Local First Responders will also be doing a meet & greet. If your little ones dream of becoming a firefighter or police officer, it's a perfect time to let them meet a real hero in person.
This is the fifth year The Shops at Rockvale hosts National Night Out locally. The event is free and open to anyone who is interested.
Time and date: Aug. 2, from 6 pm to 8 pm.
