Anyone else feel like they are melting away on these 90+ degree days? Freeze and Frizz in Leola, PA is an adorable hidden gem along New Holland Pike and perfect for warmer days. Not only do the ice cream and soft serves taste outstanding, but they are reasonably priced.
So is the food menu. There are not many places in Lancaster County (except the fast-food chains, perhaps) where you'll get a decent cheeseburger for $3.90. Or a large soft serve in a cone for $4.25.
Family-friendly
The cost of things plus the location makes this spot one of the more family-friendly food places in the area. Outside of the restaurant, there's a large grass field with several picnic tables and a swing set for the little ones to enjoy. It's not a fancy place, but it's one where you can easily spend a couple of hours enjoying some outdoor time and food in good company.
The staff is polite and friendly, and although it's a busy spot during the spring and summer months, I've never had to wait too long for the food or the dessert.
Sweet options
The menu features a wide array of sweet options. In addition to their popular soft serves, Frizz and Freeze offer Hershey's hand-dipped ice cream, sundaes, and flurries.
When it comes to sundae toppings, there are more than enough to choose between: chocolate syrup, hot fudge, caramel, butterscotch, marshmallow, gummy bears, Reese's Pieces, Oreo, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Andes, Kit Kat, Snickers, Butterfinger, Heath, brownie bites, walnuts, peanuts, sprinkles, malt powder. In other words, something for every taste bud!
The restaurant is open 7 days a week, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Address: 2250 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601
Oh, and: There are a few larger churches in the area. On Sundays around lunchtime it tends to be pretty busy at Freeze and Frizz.
