I stopped by Slate Cafe for the first time recently. This adorable spot in the heart of historic downtown, Lititz offers breakfast all day and light fare. Their selection of coffee drinks is impressive, and I ultimately decided on the Truffle Espresso.
And what a perfect drink on a cold, winter day that turned out to be. This is one of the better coffee drinks I've tried in Lancaster County.
These days, the cafe is busy dishing up locals and visitors stopping by for the Fire and Ice Festival. I went right before the festival started, and the restaurant had a few people in and out during the time I was there, but mostly locals, including several teenagers stopping by after school for a hot chocolate and some grilled cheese.
There is a local vibe to this place. It's the sort of place often featured in small-town romantic comedies where the cafe feels like a community gathering spot. And when the drinks and the food are good, all the better.
The design of Slate Cafe is casual and sleek. There are lots of white and natural colors. Plus a house plant here and there. It works well and gives the cafe a trendy and bright look, and if you find yourself on Main Street in Lititz, I can highly recommend stopping by for some banana bread and a truffle espresso. I'll definitely be going back.
Address: Slate Cafe is located at 43 East Main St, Lititz, PA 17543
Right next door is Purple Robin Reserve, an independent shop offering an abundance of handmade artisan gifts, created by no less than 160 local and regional artists. Also worth stopping by!
