If there is any time you should visit downtown Lancaster City, it is during their First Friday extravaganza. Every first Friday of the month, the city and its arts communities are celebrated with various events throughout the downtown.

Local gallery

This Friday, the gallery at Curio is presenting the unique Speak The Dark, a collection of new works by artist Mairin-Taj Caya. Curio features a carefully curated and rotating exhibitions focusing on local and regional artists, all of whom have a story to share through the work they create.

In addition to the nee collection, Curio hosts several virtual events, artist talks, and their weekly sketchbook club allow their community and beyond to experience the making, the meaning and the people behind the art.

Winter concert

At the same time, First Reformed Church will hold a concert, “Organic Reflections” - Winter Wonders. The concert will be held at 8 pm in the historic church building at 40 E Orange Street. The concert series "Organic Reflections” is a gift to the community from the church. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts featuring classical organ music are refreshing for both heart and soul. Doors open at 7:30 pm, and all are welcome to attend.

In addition to these featured events, many local galleries, shops, and pop-up musicians participate in First Friday and during these Fridays, you'll often come across good deals both from local shops and restaurants.

First Fridays show some of the best of Lancaster City and it is a perfect opportunity to connect with the local community, venture out, and have a good time outdoors.
