Truffle cheese flatbread is a delicious, savory treat that doesn't require too much time or effort to make. This flatbread works particularly well with tomato-based dinners, such as tomato soup, pasta marinara, or lasagna.
Here's the recipe I've created:
- 16 oz all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- About 1 1/2 cup lukewarm water, play it by hand.
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded truffle cheese
Start by mixing the flour, yeast, and salt. Then you pour lukewarm water into the bowl and carefully mix it into the dry ingredients. Fill the bowl until it has just that right and firm consistency. Not too dry and not too runny.
Preheat the oven to 450F.
Let the dough sit for about 15 minutes, and then spread it onto parchment paper on a large baking sheet. Top the dough with cheese, as little or as much as you prefer. 2 cups of regular shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 cup of shredded truffle cheese usually is more than enough to cover the baking sheet.
Let it bake for 15 minutes until the cheese has that perfectly golden brown look to it.
Ideal side dish
Once out of the oven, let the flatbread cool down for a couple of minutes, and then, enjoy it all with a glass of wine or as a dinner side dish. It's one of my favorites, not just because it tastes amazing but it really is quick and easy to make.
