The Best Miniature Golf Course in Every State

Pirates Island Adventure Golf is primarily a Florida chain, featuring, you guessed it…pirate-themed adventure courses. The Gulf Shores location brings all that coastal fun to Alabama.


Like everything else in Alaska, the mini-golf is extreme. In Anchorage, check out the 3D indoor blacklight mini golf at Putters Wild.


Cracker Jax in Scottsdale has much more than miniature golf. The facility includes a whole host of fun activities like laser tag and bumper boats. There is an 18-hole professional putting course and mini-golf options for both older and younger children.


Golf Mountain in Lowell has two courses loaded with challenges and scenery, including waterfalls and water hazards.


Miniature golf in San Francisco became a reality with a unique indoor course at Urban Putt, which may be one of the only courses in the country funded through crowdsourcing.


Colorado Journey in Littleton proves that mini-golf in public parks is a great idea. The course features re-creations of well-known landmarks from around the state, including Garden of the Gods and Mesa Verde.


Switzerland meets Ohio at Matterhorn in Canton. Why not? There are eighteen holes, all designed to bring a touch of Swiss to America's heartland.

Volcanoes, fossils, and a skull pit in Iowa? Lost Island Adventure Golf in Waterloo has all of that and more waiting for your summer adventure. Besides the golf, there is a water park designed to keep the crowd entertained and cooled.


Summer fun inside and out at Great Wolf Lodge locations across the country include miniature golf. Howl in One in Kansas City is a perfect example.


Malibu Jack's in Lexington brings all the fun of go-karts, an arcade, and mini-golf indoors and out of the heat. There is also laser tag and pizza to stretch the fun into an all-day adventure.


City Putt in New Orleans tops the list of city-operated courses in public parks with 36 holes with a Louisiana theme and the facility is ADA accessible.


Just look for the giant pirate in Old Orchard Beach and you've found your course: Pirate's Cove is part of the chain of adventure golf facilities known for fun.


Let's just put it out there that Ocean City may very well be the mini-golf capital of the country. Old Pro Golf reigns in a city loaded with eye-popping mini golf choices. Old Pro offers both indoor and outdoor courses for a family fun day and night.


Crystal Caves in Auburn has ice cream y'all. It should be a law, don’t you think? All mini-golf courses should serve ice cream.


Royal Oak Golf Center in Royal Oak does an amazing job of combining serious golf practice with fun for the family on the 18-hole mini-golf course. The scenery is enough reason to pop in for a visit.


Can-Can Wonderland in St. Paul tees up an inventive and artistic miniature golf course with a purpose. A portion of the proceeds from the course and arcade go to the local artist's community.


Fire-spitting volcanoes and challenging holes make Lava Links at the Scarlett Pearl Casino in D'Iberville an ideal course to try during your vacation on the Gulf Coast.


You do know that Branson is all about family fun, right? Bigfoot Adventure Golf proves the point with a challenging course that is part of the Big Foot Fun Park featuring rides and an arcade, plus safari expedition truck rides to the Big Foot Farm.


Amazing Fun Center in Coram is amazing indeed. The park includes bumper boats, a 3-D maze, and go-carts in addition to the miniature golf course with waterfalls and Montana scenery.


Prehistoric Putt in Omaha brings all the fun indoors with a crazy array of dinosaur features. Sister courses in Elkhorn and Council Bluffs swap to medieval and pirate themes.


Laser tag, golf carts, and indoor black-light mini golf all make the list of airconditioned summer fun for the family in Las Vegas at the Rex Center. Plus pizza!

New Hampshire

Mel's Funway Park in Litchfield is home to batting cages, go-carts, and an arcade in addition to the 18-hole miniature golf course. Top off your visit with ice cream, of course!

New Jersey

You'll find three courses and tons of King Congo fun at Congo Falls in Ocean City on the Boardwalk, including an indoor- air-conditioned course named "Lost City."

New Mexico

There is too much fun for one day's visit at Hinkle Family Fun Center in Albuquerque, but the golf alone is pretty impressive. There are two courses, both featuring led lights for even more fun at night.

New York

Who could pass up the oldest miniature golf course in the country? Whispering Pines Miniature Golf in SeaBreeze claims the title with its listing in the National Registry of Historic Places. It first opened in 1930.

North Carolina

Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Miniature Golf in Kill Devil Hills has a name that is too good to pass up. The theme is diamond mining and the two courses come complete with a ride on a mining train to the first holes.

North Dakota

Glow golfing is a hot topic, especially when the temperatures climb in the summer and everyone is looking for an air-conditioned indoor space to have some fun. The Putt District in Minot is just such a place.


The aliens are certainly not the ones on vacation at Alien Vacation in Cleveland. They seem to appear out of every corner of this indoor 3D course.


Bricktown is the place to be in Oklahoma City, so it only makes sense to have a top-notch family fun option in its heart. Brickopolis. Besides the 18b holes, there is bungee trampolining, gemstone mining, and rock climbing. It is not your average fun center.


Golf at Eagle Landing in Happy Valley is miniature golf in its purest form-- a challenging putting course even serious golfers can appreciate. Golf fun doesn't end on the mini-golf course though. There are 36 par-three golf holes for short game lovers, and the hottest new trend-- soccer golf.


Because you came to Hershey for one reason-- fun, right? Okay, well maybe for some chocolate, but between candy breaks head to the Challenge Family Fun Center to test out the 22-hole course.

Rhode Island

Mulligan's Island in Cranston comes complete with two 18-hole courses, volcanoes, caves, and sunken pirate ships. The facility also has batting cages, a driving range, and nine par 3 holes.

South Carolina

Myrtle Beach is up there in the top mini golf destinations in the world. Yes, people come here just for miniature golf. Hawaiian Rumble Mini Golf is home to the United States Pro Mini Golf Masters Tournament every year.

South Dakota

Rapid City is home to Putz n Glo Black Light Miniature Golf where the fun lights up both day and night. A round of mini-golf makes the perfect indoor activity after a day of South Dakota adventures.


Believe it or not, there is a Ripley's Believe It or Not Mini Golf in Gatlinburg. With 54 holes, there should be enough fun and amazement for the whole family.


Embassy Golf has been around for more than 30 years in San Antonio and frequently ranks as the best mini golf in the city with 18 holes of scenery and surprises.


Between golf and all the other fun activities at Boondocks in Draper, grab a bite to eat. The burgers look amazing!


Lots-O-Balls Mini Golf in Duxbury provides a scenic break in the fun in nearby Camel's Hump State Park.


Okay, so Virginia might be in the running for the title of "capital of mini-golf" because there are so many options. Give Jungle Golf in Virginia Beach a go.


Family Fun Center in Tukwila is the place to play and dine because there's a Bullwinkle's Restaurant just waiting for you to work up an appetite.

West Virginia

Okay, we admit it, the Chocolate Moose Coffee could be the reason we put Mountain State Miniature Golf in Buckley on our list. Because mini golf isn't always about ice cream, right?


A par 3 course, footgolf, and batting cages are all fun, but it's hard to top the three mini-golf courses at Vitense Golfland in Madison. There are two outdoor courses and the amazing indoor landmark course-- where putting is only half the fun.


There is only one miniature golf course in Jackson Hole. Mini Golf at Snow King Mountain fills the need for family golf fun amid the stunning scenery and summer breezes.
