An invisible house located in the vast Mojave Desert is a loved vacation rental among celebrities, and it could be yours for just $18 million. The house, which spans over 5,500 square meters, reflects the desert because of its mirrored exterior, making it look invisible.
This fascinating house was featured in Netflix’s The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals show and Bling Empire, and has been rented by celebs like Demi Lovato and Diplo for off-grid getaways. Its owners, Chris and Roberta Hanley, revealed that the invisible house was inspired by ‘A Space Odyssey’, which was released in 2001, and a New York Sky Scrapper.
Besides being invisible, the mansion has a 100-foot-long indoor pool in the heart of its living room, which gives easy access to the wonderful desert view from all sides. The pool is the best place to be in when it's hot outside, and it can also be warmed when the temperature outside drops.
Its minimalist structure is built such that the natural desert environment isn’t affected, and it has three en suite bedrooms, a kitchen, and a dining area. The mirrors on the facade of the house are actually heat-reflecting Solarcool glass to keep the insides cool and reflect infrared frequencies and ultraviolet rays.
“Bringing the Invisible House to market for the first time ever is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Christie’s real estate agent.
