Mutant goat with human-like face worshiped as an avatar of god

A mutant-looking goat with a human-like face was born in the village Nimodia on the outskirts of Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, India. Although initially, the locals of Nimodia felt the goat looked like a grumpy old man, they decided to worship it as an avatar of god for its eerie features.

Images and videos of the unique animal were shared by its owner Mukeshji Prajapap on social media. One of the videos, in which the animal can be seen chewing and wagging its tail and walking around the hut, has gone viral, and the little animal became a sensation.

In a few other snaps, the goat can be seen staring at Mukeshji Prajapap when he tried to touch the animal’s scalp.

From a scientific point of view, it seems like the goat suffers from cyclopia, a rare congenital defect. In this defect, the genes which are supposed to create facial symmetry fail to express.

Typically, this defect leads to miscarriage or stillbirth. Despite its birth, the prognosis of the human-like goat isn’t favorable as the structure of its face could cause breathing and eating difficulties.

However, similar weird births have been reported from different parts of the world. Another such case from India is the birth of the ‘cyclops kid,’ a goat with a single eye on its forehead. The baby goat had only a single eye because its developing brain failed to divide into two hemispheres. Unfortunately, the rare goat died a few weeks after its birth.
