Dr. Ronak Parikh, is a Wesley Chapel Dentist with a heart for giving back to the community with his time and treasure.

As people are starting to go back to the dentist, Dr. Parikh is seeing a concerning trend. Many people, even young people, are having a series of greater than normal dental challenges. There are cavities, cracks, decay and more. The reason is because many have not been to the dentist in more than a year, if not two years, due to the pandemic.
Dr. Parikh just wants to remind people to keep up on dental health. It's critically important. Maintaining your oral health and smile are good for so many reasons. You present better when meeting people, you look confident and if you don't keep oral health in check, it could lead to other health concerns. It's really easy, he says, dental health compromises could mean other health care challenges too. He'a seeing concerning situations in about 50% of the patients that come into his office. He's raising the issue so people make the appointment and get checked out before any more damage presents itself.

When he's not in his office, this Wesley Chapel resident is busy volunteering with Mission Smiles. That group works through the Tampa Bay area providing dental care to all those in need including survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence and those overcoming drug abuse. Mission Smiles operates a mobile clinic that works with the generosity of local churches to provide dental resources to those in need. The once a month remote dental clinic fills up fast. Dr. Parikh and others put in long volunteer hours for the patients in need.

I look for the positive stories in our community to showcase and highlight. There is so much negativity in the world, I find the uplifting community members and stories to share.
