Colorado US House of Representative member Ken Buck (CO-4) is retiring, and he had plenty to say about his fellow Republicans in an interview on “Face the Nation” Sunday.
Earlier this month Buck, a conservative Republican who represents much of Colorado’s rural eastern plains, announced on November 1st he would not seek reelection to Congress, citing many in his party who refuse to accept the results of the 2020 presidential election and to condemn the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
In the interview Sunday Buck insisted, “Everybody who thinks that the election was stolen or talks about the election being stolen is lying to America.”
“Everyone who makes the argument that January 6 was, you know, an unguided tour of the Capitol is lying to America. Everyone who says that the prisoners who are being prosecuted right now for their involvement in January 6, that they are somehow political prisoners or that they didn’t commit crimes, those folks are lying to America.”
He said something similar when he announced his retirement on YouTube, saying, ““Too many Republican leaders are lying to America.”
