Just a few days ago Elon Musk, the Billionaire Owner of X, Tesla and SpaceX came under heavy fire for agreeing with an antisemitic post that accused Jewish people of driving hatred against white people.
Additionally, Musk has faced accusations that hate rhetoric and antisemitism have grown significantly on X since he took over the company in 2022, as well as accusations of having using antisemitic tropes himself.
When CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Florida Governor and Presidential contender Ron DeSantis his views on what Elon Musk had done, DeSantis referred to it as merely being in the fringe, and not related to any major influence.
“It tends to be more fringe voices that are doing it,” according to DeSantis referring to Musk.
Tapper was quick to point out that Elon Musk is hardly on the fringe of society. He is the wealthiest person in the world. He also mentioned other major conservative voices who have spread antisemitism in the light of the Israel-Hamas war, including Charlie Kirk, Candice Owens and others.
After DeSantis again tried to deflect, Tapper said point blank, “I still haven't heard you condemn it."
DeSantis careful response was, “Well, because I haven't seen it, I have no idea what the context is. I know Elon Musk. I've never seen him do anything. I think he's a guy that believes in America.”
Musk is a strong supporter of Ron DeSantis and even allowed him to use X to launch his campaign for president.
