When Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump announced that they too were moving permanently to Florida, like her father ex-president Donald Trump, people naturally speculated if she was about to enter Florida politics. Maybe a run for Governor when Ron DeSantis’ two terms are up in 2024, people thought?
According to sources with People magazine reports that is not the case. Just the opposite in fact.
The source says that 41-year-old Ivanka "is recreating her business life and raising her children which are her priorities. She is through with politics."
Last year when Donald announced his third bid for the White House, neither Ivanka nor Jared were anywhere around. At the time Ivanka issued a statement saying she was concentrating on her children and her family. A second source told People that Ivanka may have regrets helping out her father, who helped make her name persona non grata, at least in NYC.
Others think the reasons may be more sinister than those expressed.
According to Trump ex-lawyer Micheal Cohen, “I believe Jared and Ivanka are potentially the moles, you know, in terms of the Mar-a-Lago documents and so on,” Cohen told MSNBC, referencing the FBI’s raid on Donald Trump’s Florida estate in August, and suggesting that it was one of the reasons they were absent from Trump’s announcement that he would run for president in 2024.
Cohen added that the couple would not be involved in the campaign because they “got everything” they wanted during Trump’s last term.
“They made $640 million while they were in the administration. Jared’s father got the pardon that he wanted,” Cohen said, referencing Charles Kushner, who pleaded guilty to charges including tax evasion and witness tampering in 2004. “On top of that, Jared pulled down two, two and a half billion from the Saudis,” he added, noting Kushner’s business ties with the kingdom.
Whatever the reasons, it seems for now that Ivanka and Donald are on the outs.
