For fans of Holiday spectacle, the only thing better than the return of St. Nick himself is the music and majesty of their favorite Holiday shows. Beginning Sunday, December 4th the Philips launches its Holiday program.

First up is the FREE annual ‘Sounds of the Season’, presented by the UF School of Music. This program will thrill with all the classics featuring performances by the University Choir, Women’s Chorale and Men’s Glee Club. Advanced Tickets for this event must be picked up physically from the Phillips Center Box Office beginning Monday, November 28 at noon. A limit of four (4) advance tickets may be picked up per person. Advanced tickets only guarantee admission prior to 6:45 p.m. Remaining seats will be filled starting at 6:45 p.m. to the stand-by line on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Next is the Norwegian brass ensemble tenThing. The all-female brass ensemble will be your tour guide on this journey through the musical traditions of the Christmas season. Featuring songs from Norway, Germany, Italy, England, and Ukraine, as well as modern classics from America, tenThing helps spread holiday cheer the only way they know how—with fantastic new arrangements and masterful performances, Tuesday, December 6th.

Finally, Dance Alive National Ballet presents, ‘The Nutcracker’ on Saturday and Sunday, December 17th and 18th with two shows both days. This all-time family favorite with beautiful dancing, sets, and costumes is here again! Everyone needs a hero; and in this case, she’s a girl! Clara saves the Nutcracker prince, and to thank her, he brings her on a magical journey to the Kingdom of Sweets, where the exquisite Sugar Plum Fairy puts on a regal show for her. Tradition, beauty, grace, and a terrific story – what more can you ask for? It’s sheer magic!

Three great shows that will definitely get you into the holiday spirit!
