Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has yet to officially announce that he's running for President in 2024, but two top-ranking Republicans in Florida's state legislature officially endorsed him for the job.

Florida State Senate President Kathleen Passidomo, R-Naples, and House Speaker Paul Renner, R-Palm Coast, announced their support for DeSantis, earlier today.

“I’m here today with my colleague and partner in the legislative process to encourage our governor, America’s governor, Ron DeSantis, to run for resident of the United States,” Passidomo said. “There is no greater vision for the future of our country than the Florida blueprint Governor DeSantis spearheaded over the last several years.”

“Republicans are ready to win. It’s time to win,” Renner said. “The red wave is coming in 2024, but it will come with Ron DeSantis at the top of the ticket."

Renner continued to praise DeSantis', and mentioned certain traits. "There are three qualities of any great leader. You have to have integrity, principles and courage," Renner said. "You can be a leader without one of those, but you can’t be a great leader without all of those.”

Renner also cited DeSantis' knack for problem-solving as a skill that is needed in the White House.

"On federal government’s best days they fail to solve problems, on its worst days it creates problems,” Renner said. “Here in Florida with this governor, he is solving problems day in day out.”

Despite the fact that DeSantis candidacy for the White House hasn't officially launched, a major Political Action Committee named "Never Back Down" is already touting the governor as America's best choice in 2024. Trump, who is also a resident of the Sunshine State, picked up endorsements from several members of Florida's congressional delegation, while others remain silent on their endorsement up to this point.
