Alien Signals May Have Been Detected, Say Chinese Scientists

Chinese scientists claim to have discovered what they believe to be the traces of an extraterrestrial civilization's signal, per Bloomberg. As part of their quest for proof of aliens, the researchers recently found strange signals from space and are working to figure out what they are.

According to media reports by USA Today, the signals were detected by China's FAST radio telescope, also known as the "Sky Eye" telescope. Located in Southwest China, it has a diameter of 1,600 feet and has been exploring possible extraterrestrial life over the past couple of years.

The telescope recently discovered "several narrow-band electromagnetic signals that are different from anything they've previously encountered," according to cosmologist Zhang Tongjie, chief scientist of China's ET Civilization Research Group

For centuries, humans have wondered if we are the only civilization in the universe or if there is another civilization somewhere among the stars. "The idea that we are alone in the universe seems to me completely implausible and arrogant," said the famous astrophysicist Stephen Hawking. "Considering the number of planets and stars that we know exist, it's extremely unlikely that we are the only form of evolved life."

It's important to stress that the signal is not yet confirmed to be from an extraterrestrial civilization. But if the signal is genuinely from an alien planet, history will remember 2022 as the year humanity discovered we're not alone in the universe.

What do you think about Chinese scientists potentially discovering an alien signal? Do you think it's aliens or just radio interference? Leave a comment with your thoughts. And if you think more people should read this article, share it on social media.
