The United States has already experienced several deadly hurricanes this year. And unfortunately, another one seems to be on the way. According to The National Hurricane Center (NHC), a giant hurricane is hurtling towards North America. And if it maintains its current trajectory, several states could be heavily impacted by strong winds and rain.
Here are several infographics that show the trajectory of Hurricane Pamela over the next few days:
The NHC says that Hurricane Pamela could bring flash flooding to several regions of Texas and Oklahoma. So if you haven't already, it's worth preparing a survival kit in case you're stuck at home for several days. This could include bottled water, food, and other essential items.
Over the past few years, Hurricanes have become more common than an F-150 since they're absolutely everywhere and seem to be omnipresent. Plus, according to The Washington Post, "an unsurpassed 50 named storms have formed over the warming Atlantic waters since the start of the 2020 season, with a record-setting 18 striking the Lower 48 states, including seven hurricanes."
It's vital to keep in mind that tropical storms and hurricanes can quickly modify their trajectory. So, if you reside in a location where hurricanes are common, keep an eye on local weather forecasts until any warnings or local advisories are lifted.
