Many people throughout the United States are living paycheck to paycheck. So as you can imagine, another stimulus check could be extremely beneficial for those struggling to make ends meet. Because according to research published by MIT, the current minimum wage isn't enough to survive in any state throughout the country.

Heck, that's probably why a third of Americans would struggle to cover an unexpected expense of $400. Car payments, rent, groceries, and other expenses can quickly decrease your bank account to zero. And unfortunately, that means many Americans throughout the country have to make difficult financial decisions to get by. And according to data published by MarketWatch, "A clear majority of baby boomers (72%) said this has been the "worst economic downturn" they had ever experienced, even compared to the Great Recession and the 2001 dot-com boom and bust. Half of baby boomers have eliminated spending on non-essentials."

While researching this story, I spoke to a woman named Teresa, who lives in Amarillo, Texas. She reached out to me on Twitter as she wanted to share her story to let other people know they aren't facing financial difficulty alone. "The past 18 months have been really tough on my finances," she said. "I've got two kids, and my husband is unemployed as he was recently terminated from his job. I don't know how we're going to make it through the winter."

Thankfully, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. According to reports published by CBS, 21 Democratic Senators wrote a letter to President Joe Biden in support of regular stimulus payments, arguing that the IRS's $1,400 payment won't last long. Therefore, it's fair to say the idea of a fourth federal stimulus check is certainly within the realm of possibility.

But even if you don't receive a fourth stimulus check from the federal government, some states have their own initiatives that distribute money to those in need. For example, in California, many individuals with salaries under $75k who filed a 2020 tax return will receive a stimulus of several hundred dollars. And in Texas, teachers in the Dallas metro area were rewarded with payments up to $2,000 for their hard work during the last 18 months.
