2 Ways To Stop Being A Toxic Person

Most of us want to surround ourselves with good people. But as you probably know, that's easier said than done.

We often struggle to recognize when we get too egotistical and become an extremely toxic person. However, there are several ways to avoid being toxic, so you can continually surround yourself with people who want the best for you.

Here they are.

Don't Interrupt People During A Conversation.

We don't like to have conversations with people who continually interrupt us. So why would you expect other people to enjoy talking to you? That would make you a massive hypocrite. Instead, a better solution is to listen intentionally and become genuinely interested in what they have to say.

According to The Huffington Post, a great strategy is to "be aware when you cut someone off. Stop your sentence mid-stream, and apologize for being rude. This will take discipline on your part to interrupt yourself once you've caught yourself in the act."

Practice Gratitude For What You Already Have.

Chances are, you hate it when people complain about wanting their circumstances to be different. So don't do it yourself. Instead, practice gratitude for what you have instead of wishing for something you don't.

When you wake up tomorrow morning, say 3 things you're grateful for. Although it might seem like a cheesy exercise, it'll certainly help to keep your ego in check.
