Chances are, you want to have more interesting conversations. Perhaps it's because you want to meet new people and make more friends. Alternatively, you may want to improve your dating life and have incredible relationships. Whatever the case, it's certainly possible to improve the quality of your conversations.

Here are several ways that you can start:

Ask Open-Ended Questions.

It’s no secret that most people enjoy talking about themselves more than other people. So instead of speaking about your own life, consider asking some open-ended questions about the other person. For example:

  • What’s your story?
  • If you could restart life, what would you do differently?
  • What book had the greatest impact on your life?

You get the idea. When you take an interest in other people during a conversation, they’ll naturally want to take an interest in you.

Follow Up On Any Interesting Responses.

Use their response as an opportunity to branch out into other subjects. For example, if they say they enjoy surfing, ask how they initially got into the sport. Similarly, if they love listening to a specific band, ask about their favorite song and why they like it so much.

Ask Something Completely Random.

Catch them off guard. Ask something they weren't expecting. For example, you could ask if they believe in aliens or what they'd do in a specific situation.

You get the idea. If you want to make a conversation extremely interesting, make it memorable.
