CU's Pearl Street Stampedes return to Boulder in September through November

BOULDER, CO - Get ready for this season's Pearl Street Stampedes with the University of Colorado this Thursday, September 2. Participate in this decade-long celebration of the kickoff for CU home football games and support the members of the CU football team and coaching staff.

The Pearl Street Stampedes is celebrated the night before each home game. Buffs fans will line the Pearl Street Mall alongside the Golden Buffalo Marching Band, University of Colorado's marching band. This event is a collaborative effort between the University of Colorado, local businesses, the City of Boulder, and Downtown Boulder.

This upcoming Pearl Street Stampedes will be led by Stephen Tep's vintage 1948 fire truck. The marching band will start the performance on the 1300 block of Pearl Street. The Stampedes will be moving west, but stopping on each block of the Pearl Street Mall to perform.

If you are unable to make it on September 2, make sure to catch the celebration on the following dates, all starting from 7 p.m.

  • Friday, September 17, 2021
  • Friday, October 1, 2021
  • Friday, October 15, 2021 (This date is Family Weekend)
  • Friday, November 5, 2021 (This date will celebrate homecoming)
  • Friday, November 19, 2021

The CU Marching Band will ensure the crowd an exciting and enthusiastic performance, beginning the Stampedes in front of the Boulder Courthouse. This event is family-friendly, so the young residents of Boulder are welcome to join.
