This accident took place on Wednesday.

I want to thank you all for your prayers for our family. As a family we are giving thanks today, knowing things could have been much worse. I am happy for your kindness and love. It means a lot.

She wrote on her official social media account.

The details of the accident

According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident had occurred at 1:43 p.m. on Wednesday in the west of Pawhuska, about eight miles away from the farm of Ree Drummond’s family. Caleb and Ladd were driving a Himmat Fire Truck on County Road N3660. 21-year-old Caleb was driving southbound, and 57-year-old Ladd was driving northbound. All of a sudden, their trucks hit each other because of the high wind on a gravel road. This made things invisible to them, and Caleb and Ladd could not know what was actually happening to them and their trucks.

Unfortunately, they had not worn seatbelts. Caleb was ejected around seventy feet from the point of rest. Both of them were immediately brought to the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. The condition of Caleb was more critical than that of Ladd. He received serious injuries in the arm, leg, and head. Some internal injuries were also received.

Ladd and Caleb were actually responding to the fire that was burning through hundreds of acres of land in northeast Oklahoma. They drove trucks at a relatively high speed because the flames were encroaching on the Drummond family farm.

Ree Drummond requests people to keep praying

In addition to saying thanks for all the kindness and love, Ree Drummond has requested her fans to continue praying for her nephew and husband. She says that they are taking good care of the two hospitalized men. As a family, they realize that think could have been worse if they were not brought to the medical center immediately.
